Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the Turkish Ministry of Education mandated that all schools in Turkey close on March 13 in the 2019-2020 Academic Year. The Turkish ministry of education authorized online courses from March 23 to June 26, 2020, in Turkey. Under these circumstances, Ozel Ege Lisesi students completed between 30-38 hours of online class time per week. Also, Ozel Ege Lisesi continued to teach new material and evaluate students' progress through online learning and assessments.

The Turkish Ministry of Education issued the regulation that no formal assessments would be conducted during the online period of March 23, 2020-June 26, 2020.  Therefore, a student's cumulative GPA for the 2019-2020 academic year is reflective of the first semester assessment period of September 9, 2019-January 17, 2020, as prescribed by the Turkish Ministry of Education during the COVID-19 outbreak. That being the case, many students, especially the seniors, did not have an opportunity to raise their grades in the second semester and be active in the school clubs and activities. Please refer to letters of recommendation for proof of our student's achievements and accomplishments during this period of emergency. As of September 2020, our students were actively a part of blended learning online as well as face to face- while our faculty delivered the whole academic program conducting face-to-face exams. As of 2021 we have started our academic year with face to face education prioritising the health and safety of our community. Modifications have been made to allow us to continue our education and protect our students, faculty and staff. Our pandemic committees has developed a health and safety policy and  established guidelines for a variety of scenarios during the pandemic.
