Guidance & Psychological Counseling
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit designs a comprehensive, preventive, developmental program tailored to each student’s individual needs and developmental characteristics. This program aims to foster:
- Self-awareness and empathy
- Emotional awareness
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- Creative and critical thinking
- Effective interpersonal communication
All processes are carried out in collaboration with teachers and families, taking a holistic view of the student.
Individual Introductory Meetings
At the start of the year, meetings are held with both students and parents to collect information about social-emotional, cognitive, language, and motor development. These meetings strengthen school-family cooperation and help build a roadmap for supporting each student's needs.
Orientation Activities
The adaptation process is essential for children’s emotional well-being. Therefore, a structured orientation program helps students explore their new environment safely, form healthy relationships, and gradually adapt to classroom routines.
Development Monitoring
Student development is monitored through individual interviews, group sessions, classroom observations, and developmental inventories, which help identify strengths and areas needing support.
School Readiness Activities
School readiness work assesses cognitive, social-emotional, language, motor, and self-care skills. Based on inventories and observations, teachers plan follow-up support activities to ease the transition to primary school.
Parent Communication
Regular communication with parents—through monthly newsletters and individual meetings—is an essential part of supporting children’s development. All communication follows principles of confidentiality, transparency, and trust.
