History

Özel Ege High School was established in 1987 under the name Özel Anayurt High School, and adopted the name Özel Ege High School the following year.

Özel Ege High School is a K-12 school (incorporating kindergarten, primary school, middle school, and high school grades) owned by İzmir Education Health Industry Investment Joint Stock Company (İzmir Eğitim Sağlık Sanayi Yatırım Anonim Şirketi). The school has no direct or indirect affiliation with any domestic or foreign foundation or non-governmental organization. Özel Ege High School is managed by individuals who are grateful to the founders of the Republic of Turkey and who have embraced and internalized the founding philosophy of the republic. Our children grow up in an educational environment free from any inclination toward worldviews other than this philosophy and devoid of any political views.

Özel Ege is a "Science and Leadership" school with the mission of: "The mission of Özel Ege High School is to raise reliable leaders of the future who are committed to their national values and capable of living comfortably anywhere in the world."

At Özel Ege, "educational memory" is held in high regard, and the traditions of the institution and education are kept alive; the school believes in the necessity of "governance through boards and rules."

Özel Ege High School has been managed by the same executive management and founder's representative since 1998.

Recognized as a school of science and leadership, Özel Ege High School aims for its graduates to be citizens who will act as opinion leaders in politics, public administration, the business world, media, academic circles, civil society, and the world of ideas. It strives to cultivate transformative leader candidates who possess a passion for elevating their surroundings and country to a higher threshold.

Since its early years, our school has pursued educational processes where the intellect is not dominated, minds and consciences are left free, one is not a captive to prejudices, differences are recognized, and all forms of discrimination are excluded.

In the culture of Özel Ege High School, hard work, patience, and modesty stand out as prominent values. Our school adopts an approach that urges its students to be mindful of the danger of popular culture and dominant consumerism in creating uniform individuals.

In Özel Ege, where the value of earnest labor is always emphasized, it is underlined that being a student and living life are not solely about success, and that it is essential to exist as individuals whose internal and external worlds are at peace within all social environments, especially the family.
